Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a procedure in which, depending on the problem, the cartilaginous and bony framework of the nose is aesthetically modified so that it comes into anthropometric aesthetic balance with the rest of the face.

It is a procedure (rhinoplasty) that radically improves the appearance of the face, as well as the patient’s psychology, requiring 7–10 days of patience for the postoperative swelling to subside and for the plaster splint to be removed.

The reasons that lead individuals of every gender and age to undergo rhinoplasty, apart from aesthetic reasons, are often related to impaired breathing function due to a deviation of the nasal septum.

In such cases, a simultaneous procedure on the septum is also performed. The plastic surgeon determines the new shape following an extensive discussion with the interested individual, who is informed accordingly prior to the surgery.

Rhinoplasty is considered the procedure that most significantly improves the psychology of individuals, as they gain a strong sense of self-confidence and, consequently, an improved quality of life, with the simultaneous resolution of both aesthetic and functional problems. Rhinoplasty can be performed using the classical method or the open rhinoplasty technique, depending on the existing problem and whether it is a revision surgery.
