Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty is a common procedure, mainly performed on individuals with laxity of the abdominal wall, with deformities of the skin, the muscular wall, and the fatty tissue. The problem occurs in both men and women.

Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. The incision is made low and horizontally so that it can be covered by underwear. Through the procedure, excess skin and fat are removed and the separation of the rectus abdominal muscles is corrected.

It is performed more frequently in women, particularly after childbirth, when the problem is more pronounced. It is also performed in individuals who have experienced major weight loss, where significant skin laxity requires restructuring of the tissues in the affected areas.

From the day after the abdominoplasty procedure, the patient is able to take care of themselves and return home, while remaining away from work for 1 to 2 weeks. The results are impressive, and in cases where it is indicated, the use of Laser provides significant assistance.
