Dr. Paraskevas P. Kontoes was born in Athens.
A graduate of Varvakeion School, as well as the Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine of the University of Athens, he pursued his passion for plastic surgery.
Originating from mountainous Arcadia, known for his uncompromising nature and perfectionism, he holds a PhD from the University of Athens. He trained for many years alongside leading figures in plastic surgery—true pioneers of the field—at institutions and centers in the United States (including Harvard), Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, London where he completed his core training, and other countries, always seeking excellence to provide the highest level of care to his patients.
He is among the few plastic surgeons who are passionately involved in the entire spectrum of plastic surgery, from reconstructive to aesthetic procedures. He is a Founding Member and President of the European Society for Laser Aesthetic Surgery (ESLAS, www.eslas.com) and is internationally recognized for his research and achievements in this field.
He was the first plastic surgeon to introduce in Greece (1994) the now well-established Full Face Laser Resurfacing technique using UltraPulse Laser. He is also considered a pioneer of combined techniques (the integration of laser technologies with classical plastic surgery), both in Greece and internationally.
In 1996, he founded Laserlight Clinic (which played a key role in introducing medical laser and aesthetic centers in Greece), initially in Kolonaki and now in Psychiko, where non-surgical laser treatments are performed. In 1997, he was also a founding member of the Laser Aesthetic Surgery Department at HYGEIA Hospital, a pioneering initiative in the private healthcare sector, where general plastic surgery and laser-assisted surgical procedures are performed.
He has published numerous scientific research and clinical papers in international medical journals and is regularly invited to speak at international conferences worldwide, presenting techniques he has personally developed in the field of plastic surgery.
He is the Director of the Plastic Aesthetic Surgery and Laser Clinic at HYGEIA Hospital and the Founder and President of DrK Medical Group. He is internationally known for his recognized personal technique in incisionless blepharoplasty with lower eyelid suspension (Single Suture Traction Technique – SSTT). He has been elected President of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) for the term 2026–2028 (www.isaps.org).
In recognition of his scientific and teaching contributions, he has been awarded the titles of ISAPS Professor and Visiting Professor (www.isaps.org).
He is also an Invited Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Liège.
